Investor Ecosystem: Estonia’s investment ecosystem is dynamic and rapidly growing, with several hundred active angel investors and VC-s altogether, including the prominent EstBAN (Estonian Business Angels Network) with 300 members. The country is also home to or investment destination to approximatley dozen influential venture capital funds which actively invest in early-stage tech startups.
Startup Landscape: The local startup scene is thriving, particularly in fintech, cybersecurity, and digital health. Notable successes include unicorns like Bolt, Wise, and Pipedrive, as well as rising stars like Veriff and Skeleton Technologies, all of which have achieved significant international growth. Estonia’s digital-first approach and supportive government policies, such as the e-Residency program, foster a highly collaborative and innovative environment.
Growth and Opportunities: The ecosystem has seen a 30% annual increase in new startups, with fintech, green tech, and digital health leading the way. If you want to invest into Estonian startups and need information about the local deal flow, then join The Estonian Business Angel Network (EstBAN). We have monthly pitch and networking events and we partner with all the important local ecosystem players to be in the middle of the action. We’ve got you covered with all this:
- Pitch Events: Every month selected startups present their business ideas to EstBAN members.
- Matchmaking Events: Organized events that connect startups with relevant business angels based on industry, stage, and investment preferences.
- Syndication: Each year we do at least two syndicate investments. This allows startups to raise larger amounts of capital and get exposure.
- Online Deal Platform: EstBAN uses Dealum platform where startups submit pitch decks for review by EstBAN members.
