One of our latest additions is DEPO Ventures.
DEPO Ventures a venture capital firm specializing in early-stage startups located in the Central and Eastern European region. Supported by a community of angel investors, DEPO Ventures is dedicated to nurturing young companies. With a focus on fostering active investor engagement, DEPO Ventures has successfully launched two angel funds, through which they have already made nearly thirty-five investments. To highlight a few, the portfolio includes companies like Tatum, SmartGuide, Oxus.AI, Supertalent, and Ringil. Notably, DEPO Ventures unveiled its third angel fund last autumn.

Beyond their direct investments, DEPO Ventures also manages the international angel network called DEPO Angels. This initiative serves as a bridge between investors and promising startups, streamlining the investment process for all involved. Furthermore, it facilitates strategic syndication arrangements, making it possible for investors to participate with smaller capital contributions. In essence, DEPO Ventures’ overarching mission is to promote the idea that investing in startups is a sensible addition to any investor’s portfolio, whether they are seasoned entrepreneurs or high-net-worth individuals.

Petr Šíma is a managing director, co-founder, and main visionary of DEPO Ventures. This Czech-based investment company currently holds two angel funds with a portfolio of 30 early-stage startups from the CEE region and an international syndicate of angel investors called DEPO Angels. Petr is also a member of the advisory board of the leading European Business Angel Network EBAN. Petr has extensive experience in the M&A area. He started an advisory company NSG Morrison which specialized in business funding, as well as tax and law consulting, and managed it for 20 years.
Michal Ciffra is a partner and the chief strategist for the DEPO Ventures investment group. With a background in M&A, finance and data/market analysis, Michal has been instrumental in building DEPO’s portfolio, which currently includes 30 startups and an international syndicate of angel investors known as DEPO Angels. Michal’s professional interests include fintech, blockchain, deep tech, and travel tech, and he operates as a mentor in the prestigious Alchemist startup accelerator. Michal recently played a crucial role in the establishment of the global Tatum Blockchain Accelerator. He is currently serving as a mentor in the prestigious Alchemist Startup Accelerator.
