Why angel investing?
You might think it is just to make money, but for many of us, it is a way to give back to the community, to help build successful companies and to get the satisfaction that comes from this involvement.
And angels hope to get a return as well.
Why do this as a group?
There are a number of good reasons. Here are a few to begin with:
Deal flow – in a network one gets access to a larger pool of pre‐screened investment opportunities. Due to leveraged know-how, an angel group has a better judgement capability. Syndication also makes conducting the due diligence faster and less expensive.
Individual bets are small. As a group you can lower your personal investment risk and diversify your portfolio.
Standardized process and term sheet – makes it easier for both the investor and entrepreneur.
