EstBAN and Tera.VC uniting for Latitude59 2023 Pitch Competition with a prize fund of 1M euros

12 January, 2023

Latitude59, Estonia’s flagship tech and startup conference, is launching a Pitch Competition with a prize fund of up to one million euros, and is calling for international startups to submit their application before April 9, 2023. The fund – the biggest of its kind in the Baltic region – has been put together by TeraVC and the Estonian Business Angels Network EstBAN, and will be awarded to the best startup at the closing ceremony of Latitude59 2023.

“Latitude59 is bolder than ever this year. Our common goal with the organizing team is to discover world-class founders who are addressing large pain points and building impactful products, in order to support them on their journey of growing into a global leader on their field,” says Andrus Oks, Founding Partner of Tera Ventures.

The Lead Investor of EstBAN, Martin Goroško agrees that difficult times require bold solutions. “The size of the fund clearly says that we are not looking for anything ordinary in 2023. If your company’s impact on today’s world is at least as great as your interest in earning from it, and the technology you are developing is value-adding and unique, you are the one we hope to find at Latitude this time,” Martin Goroško explains.

Application form for L59 Pitch Competition is open on Latitude59’s webpage until April 9, 2023. Selected teams will advance to the semi-finals and receive professional pitch training. The finals will take place on the main stage of the Latitude59 startup conference on May 26, 2023, where all finalists will have the opportunity to gain the attention of international investors, global media, and the audience.

Latitude59’s CEO Liisi Org says that the competition is an opportunity to change the world with a small but significant step. “The past year, with the world facing so many crises, has been a wake-up call for us all. We need to be bold in our discussions and the search for solutions to the era’s greatest challenges – innovation is essential, so startups resonating with it, step forward,” Liisi Org encourages.

Latitude59 will take place for the eleventh year in a row in Tallinn, Estonia – one of the most digitally advanced countries in the world, and the record-holder for most unicorns per capita in Europe. This year, nearly 3000 participants are expected to gather for the event, including 800 startup representatives and 400 investors, from all around the world.

Latitude59 is held on May 24-26, 2023. Tickets for Latitude59 2023 and registration for the L59 Pitch Competition are available on the website latitude59.ee
